Jules and OliveOne of the reasons why Jules Café  hosts a contest every month is to encourage readers to come back and visit the site. Jules Café has fresh, new content all the time, and it is built to help you, the photographer learn, grow, and share!

Look in the Grow section to find information about lighting, shooting, and equipment. The Learn section will have articles about business, marketing, networking, conventions, and workshops. You can find inspirational interviews and information about photography contests, charity work, and other fun tidbits in the Share section. So grab a cup of coffee, curl up in a chair with your laptop, and dive in to Jules Cafe.

Along with championing the quest to figure out SEO, Lawrence Chan of www.tofurious.com and our featured photographer on Coffee Break this month offers some digital solutions for photographers such as pre-designed album templates and blogs. Lawrence is donating one of his super cool album templates to a lucky winner on Jules Cafe! Check it out here

So for this month’s contest we want to know your favorite webtips. In honor of Tofurious and his SEO workshop, what is your favorite website? Where do you find yourself going every day? Is it facebook? A favorite blog? Where do you go for inspiration? Leave a comment below, and we’ll choose a winner at the end of the month! Thanks!

I am struggling with getting my name out there in the mainstream. I have been relying solely on internet marketing. I need direction of who, what, where!

    Thanks girls!

  • My web tip. lol. It has nothing to do with SEO optimization. I have a ton of websites that I love and blogs that I like to read…so I try really hard to bookmark new sites and I keep those sites organized by a category. (my bookmark folders Or favorite folders – are stuff like “photographer”, “blogs”, “knitting”…that way I can find my favorite places really quickly.

Oh…and I try to clean my bookmarked sites up every 6 months. Some sites just go off-line or blog addresses change, etc.

right now all my favorite sites are knitting related…but some have some amazing photography. http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/ – Jared creates some of the best patterns I’ve ever used…and his Photography is just beautiful, especially if you like yarn.

And facebook…I try not to spend too much time on there. I have to work sometime!

Definitely Facebook. As a Senior Photographer, I find that I am constantly getting new contacts from clients that have used my images as their profile photo, and their friends all want to know where they had it done! It’s a wonderful thing. :)

I also love to explore the pages of other photographers that I admire, getting fresh ideas for marketing, or workshops, and the ever changing technology that will help me to make my business grow. I love blogs, and really would love to start one!

I love your site, and all of the information that you share. Thank you so much for taking the time to give back!

Not to brown nose or anything, but I do go to Jules Cafe all the time to check out what is new and re-read what I have already read. One of the best websites that I am always going to is the Digital Photography School, they have info on everything I could possible ever want to know and more that boggles the mind. Plus I love the weekly assignments. It really gets me thinking on the creative side instead of the business side. I also check out Me Ra Koh blog everyday, she is really inspirational and has got me to reach for my dreams.

Favorite website: facebook! (I also frequent Tofurious) as well as Totally Rad.

I use facebook to keep up with clients more than email and anything else. However, I can’t wait to try out Google wave and that could change the way we interact with clients!

My web tip (obviously not currently in place on my photography website, but it is on another!) is to blog every day. Maybe a couple times a day. Give beautiful photos some blog time, include kind details about the people from the session…if you just photographed a set of busy twins, write a little blurb about how their energy was infectious and fun to capture in the images. Talk about how mom has done a great job picking out great clothing for the shoot (after all, she has a great eye for style). Be complimentary about your clients and they’ll be passing that link on to everyone they know.

What sites do I frequent? Tofurious, PixSylated, Cascade Exposures, and others to numerous to mention. I go for inspiration, to pick up tips, for a gentle kick in the rear when I get complacent. It always works.

I frequent Lawerance’s blog often, and love everything about it. H*ll my blog is one of his templates and I get compliment on it all the time.
My main “GoTo Place” has got to be Twitter. I’m there a lot but because of that my business has easily doubled. I’m doing tons of family sessions as well as weddings. Out of the 6 2010 weddings that I’ve booked 1 was direct from twitter & 2 were referals- it works people but you need to invest the time & not make it all about business all the time. My moto- Facebook is good for past & curent friends, Twitter is for the friends you want to make. If you want to find me- @CLBuchananPhoto is me!

  • Whoo Hoo! Thank you, Thank you! i’m off to play with my new album design now! You two are awesome.
    Love ya
